Jennifer Tilly was conceived in Los Angeles on 16 September 1958 in very poor circumstances. Her father was a vehicle salesman, and her mother was a school teacher. Jennifer, as the second daughter of four attended theater performances by her mother and was very impressed. After Jennifer was five years old the divorce of her parents took place. Jennifer was brought up in British Columbia by her mother, who moved with her siblings. Jennifer, although she had always been an extremely talented child but was hardly a knowledgeable person. Her school was often the subject of bullying because of her time in Canada's schools. The actress began losing interest at the theatre during her high school years. Her mother urged her to take on additional roles in different productions. Her mother encouraged her entire family to be passionate about art. Immediately after that she started acting.
