Brandi passante became an overnight celebrity after her appearance on A&E's reality series 'StorageWars.' It also featured Jarrod Schulz who was her boyfriend for many years, and later husband. On the show, the items stored in storage lockers which the rent has not been paid in three months is put on auction. Brandi and Jarrod who run the "Now and Then" thrift shop in Orange, California participated in the auction hoping to purchase storage units for cheap prices. The couple had no idea that the show was going to make reality stars out of the couple! The show was a success since the couple, who had a very shrewd approach to their bids throughout the entire episode, became stars. The success of reality TV helped their business and allowed them to expand. The success of their "Storage War" appearances was the catalyst for a spinoff called 'Brandi and Jarrod: married to work with a focus on the couple.
